January was a very busy month at Glenburnie!  Our students have kicked off the New Year with great enthusiasm.  Their day-to-day work, projects, and classroom activities have been meaningful and productive.  Students have been encouraged to set new academic and social goals, and to put their plan into action, to strive towards achieving their personal best.

Our recent events which took place over the last month were a tremendous success!  We were fortunate enough to have a snowy wintery day for our Outdoor Sports and Ski Day at Caledon.  Thank you to Ms. Roy for organizing such a wonderful day of activities for our Grade 4-8 students.

During We Day, our students were empowered by performances and guest speakers who celebrated their collective efforts and encouraged them to continue to make a difference in the lives of each other and within the community.

During our STEM/Parent Day, parents partnered up with their children and experienced our kick off assembly and morning full of activities linking learning to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  Thank you to our creative and innovative team of teachers for organizing and providing so many interesting and engaging activities for students and parents to enjoy at these events.

Get your calendar out so you can mark down the many activities which are outlined in this month’s newsletter.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s homeroom teacher, rotary teachers, or myself if you would like to discuss your child’s progress, goals to date, or inquire about your child’s educational programming plans for next year.

The adventure of life is to LEARN.  The purpose of life is to GROW.
The nature of life is to CHANGE.  The challenge of life is to OVERCOME.
The essence of life is to CARE.  The opportunity of life is to SERVE.
The secret of life is to DARE.  The spice of life is to BEFRIEND.  The beauty of life is to GIVE.
