I would like to extend a warm welcome back and Happy New Year to all families.  May this year bring you, and your family, great joy, peace and harmony, good health, and prosperity.  We thank you for your caring support and partnership in working together with your children.

The New Year is a wonderful time for families to discuss their own family values and how to make a difference in the lives of others. Discussions will set the tone for effective communication throughout the New Year. Families are encouraged to seize the opportunity to celebrate personal achievements and to set individual and family goals.

We were so very proud of our Kindergarten and Primary students as they presented their holiday concert. Our 6th annual Sounds of the Season event was a tremendous success! We thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining musical performances and wish to thank all participants. In addition, it was a pleasure to share with you the many philanthropic endeavours which take place at Glenburnie School, within our local community, and beyond.  We wish to thank our dedicated staff members and parent volunteers who contributed to the success of our productions.

As always, January will be busy at Glenburnie! Each class will explore new units of study using a variety of methods to further develop each students’ 21st Century Skills to the highest level through: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Creativity and Innovation, Collaboration and Leadership, Cross- Curricular Understanding, Communication, Digital Literacy, Cultural, Global and Environmental Awareness and Personal Management of one’s learning.

New for your convenience, please note that you will be able to access your child’s grade level class newsletters by clicking on the link at the bottom of this document.

We continue to enjoy working with you, and your children.  We invite you to schedule an appointment any time to meet with your child’s homeroom/rotary teachers, or myself, to discuss your child’s needs and/or educational programme for the remainder of this year and/or planning for their next academic 2018-2019  school year.

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer.  Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ~ Harriet Tubman
