“I wanted to send a quick email with regards to my daughter’s Pre-Kindergarten teacher. We are happy that our daughter has developed both on an academic and emotional level this year. She just loves going to school each day to see her friends but in particular, to see her teacher. When asked who loves her, her teacher always makes the list! I just wanted to let you know that we are very appreciative of all of the care, effort, and kindness that the teacher has shown our daughter.”
High School Credits With The Leap Ahead Program
Kick-start your child’s high school education!
Students can complete a Grade 9 credit while attending Glenburnie School.
What a way to begin high school by already having a Grade 9 credit!
Glenburnie School has launched ‘Leap Ahead’, an exciting new program that is available to students in Grades Seven and Eight. This program provides students, who demonstrate a ‘teacher assessed aptitude’ for a specific subject, with the opportunity to undertake one or more Grade Nine academic subjects.
While working online, Glenburnie students are able to earn high school credits through Canada eSchool. These credits are recognized worldwide and will be formally credited in the student’s Ontario Student Record. The opportunities with this new program are amazing!
Students and parents who are interested in this program should approach both the subject teacher and the principal as early in each semester as possible. The Leap Ahead program is completely independent. Students who are working on Grade 9 credits are still expected to attend all classes at Glenburnie School. Work can be done in the classroom as per the directions of the subject teacher. The majority of the work is to be done at home and during supervised library time.
