Glenburnie Private School Science Curriculum
Education at its best is about inspiring students to apply acquired theories, concepts, and skills in ways that are fresh and relevant to their ‘workplace’ and personal experience.
Ideally, learning is a celebration of experimentation, self-expression, friendships, and of course, fun! Students are taught that choice, not circumstance, determines their success in any given situation.
Glenburnie students are growing up in a science-based, highly technological, multi-media world. They are able to evaluate a given concept through observation, analytical and critical thinking skills, computer applications, and scientific experimentation.
As discoveries and new truths replace older accepted theories, students are encouraged to appreciate the moral and ethical choices emerging from the scientific community.
While Science studies, across the grade levels, are consistent with all Ontario Ministry of Education’s selected topics of study, Science lessons at Glenburnie extend well beyond traditional curriculum expectations.
