Glenburnie Summer Camp


Glenburnie School is pleased to welcome campers to join us for one, two, three, or four weeks of summer learning and fun-filled adventures in Oakville. All campers will participate in our weekly, action packed, theme activities.

Week 1: July 3-6 Adventures with Dinosaurs

Ready, set, roar!  Campers will become dinosaur experts!  They will learn all about how and where they lived.  This week will surely excite all dinosaur enthusiasts! On Friday, campers will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of reptiles from the dinosaur family.

Week 2: July 9-13 School of Warriors and Wizardry

Hocus Pocus!  Creativity, learning, and a myriad of friends await as campers embark upon an amazing adventure involving potions and spells.  Campers will enjoy a week’s storyline filled with sorcery, skills, spells, and of course fun!  Adventurers will be sure to enjoy their week of discovery through science, literature, history, and more!

Week 3: July 16-20 Eye Spy 

Grab your magnifying glass everyone!  This week, campers will hone their super sleuth skills as they collect the clues to an unfolding caper!  Campers will investigate mind-boggling mysteries by using their observation, analysis, and of course, detective skills!  Follow the footprints to this amazing camp, which will be sure to satisfy your inner detective!

Week 4: July 23-27 Full STEAM Ahead with Gizmos and Gadgets

This innovative camp offers campers lessons and activities that are sure to inspire and encourage their inner engineer!  Students will be following the design process for STEAM challenges in new and innovative ways!  Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve…Ready…Set…INVENT!

Camp Details

  • Glenburnie Summer Camp runs from Tuesday, July 3rd to Friday, July 27th
  • Campers will be divided into age appropriate groups
  • Each camper will participate in the camp of their choice with vacation and sports activities integrated throughout the day
  • Minimum enrollment of one full week is required

Academic Summer Camp

Each camp is based on weekly themes; learning and fun rolled into one!

Students will be immersed in a camp where learning is a celebration of experimentation, self-expression, friendships, and of course, FUN!


Junior/Senior Kindergarten

* Kinders must be fully toilet trained and must be 4 yrs old by the start of camp.

With a hands-on approach and child-centred learning, campers will focus on phonetic skills, sight reading vocabulary, pre-mathematics, and basic operations, all while having fun. Confidence will grow as young minds develop a love and passion for learning.


Primary (Grades 1 to 2)

This academic camp provides opportunities for children to enhance their language skills and problem solving strategies, as well as to develop immediate recall of basic math facts. An emphasis will be placed on individualized programming which will offer enrichment, remediation, and review as required. Campers will be having so much fun, they won’t even realize that they are learning!


Junior (Grade 3, 4, and 5)

Leaders will emerge as students acquire knowledge while engaging in Math, Language Arts, and Scientific Experimentation. Basic computation, mental math strategies, problem solving, and application will be integrated into the program. Grammatical conventions, reading and writing with purpose, and public speaking will be fostered in our literacy component. Whether it is Math, Language, or Science…this is the camp for your child!

Academic studies will be balanced with an equal amount of Vacation Camp fun integrated throughout the day.

A progress report will be provided.


French Camp

(Grades 2 to 5)

Join us at Glenburnie this Summer as we enjoy everything French!  This exciting new camp will give your child the opportunity to practise and improve their French language skills through hands-on weekly themed related activities, songs, dramatic play, technology, games and friendly conversation.  Topics will include everything from the weather, common phrases, greetings and vocabulary.  $325.00 per week.  July 2-27.   Progress report included. 


Vacation Summer Camp

(Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5)

* Kinders must be fully toilet trained and be 4 yrs old by the start of camp.

All activities are related to our weekly themes. Vacation Campers’ days are filled with regular rotations which include a variety of unique opportunities. Games, arts and crafts, drama, music and movement, sports, water play, and dress up, are sure to keep campers captivated throughout the week.


Sports Summer Camp

 (Grades 2 to 5)

Each morning, campers will focus on developing their skills, tactics, and game play in a variety indoor and outdoor sports. Our focus will be to teach the fundamental rules of each sport along with fostering strong sportsmanship and teamwork.


Coding and Maker Summer Camp

 (Grades 2 to 5)

This camp will blend programming with making. Each week we will explore programming on the computer to make simple commands and games as well as programming to control robots. We will also use “Makey Makey” and “Microbits to brainstorm, design, test, and build our own projects. Campers will be able to keep their “Microbit” projects


.Musical Theatre Summer Camp

(Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5)

* Kinders must be fully toilet trained and be 4 yrs old by the start of camp.

Designed for children in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5, our Musical Theatre camp offers campers a variety of theatre training techniques in the areas of singing, dancing, and acting. The week will be celebrated with a culminating performance showcasing the campers’ talents. Parents are welcome to attend and take photographs!
